Floyd’s Truck Center is excited to be a key partner in the Scottsbluff High School (SHS) diesel tech program, which is thriving in its second semester. The program, launched last year, involves collaboration with local diesel industry leaders including Aulick Industries, 21st Century Equipment, Floyd’s Truck Center, Inland Truck Parts Company, Murphy Tractor and Equipment Co., and Nebraska Machinery Company.
The initiative, designed to address local labor shortages in diesel technology, provides 20 students with hands-on training. The program includes tours of partner businesses and sessions in the Derek Deaver Diesel shop or Triple D’s shop at Aulick Industries, featuring a range of topics from shop safety to advanced diagnostics.
Students benefit from internships at partnering businesses, gaining practical experience and opportunities for future sponsorships. The program also prepares students for career opportunities through a roundtable interview process.
Floyd’s Truck Center is proud to support this program, which helps build a skilled workforce for the community and provides valuable career pathways for students.
