Stanley Post 20's baseball field in Fort Pierre is undergoing significant renovations, including new bleachers and an equipment shed, thanks in part to generous donations from Floyd’s Truck Center. The renovations, which gained momentum in 2023, aim to enhance the facility with additional fields, lights, and other amenities.
Floyd’s Truck Center contributed crucial equipment to the project, supporting the team's efforts to improve field conditions and facilities. This donation complements other community contributions and helps the team move closer to their goal.
The renovation project still needs approximately $250,000 to complete. This funding will cover the installation of lights, concession stands, and restrooms. Although local volunteers and businesses have provided labor and materials, most of the funding has come from a $10,000 grant from the Minnesota Twins and ongoing fundraising.
Team Manager Randy Slama highlighted the progress made, including the installation of an irrigation system and a batting cage. Despite a decrease in player turnout this season, with a roster mainly of 13- and 14-year-olds, Slama is hopeful for the team's future.
